Fun | Funky

Things can get a little funky when you’re mixing in the old with the new. Let alone when you add a “go for it” type of client from Miami that doesn’t want to play it safe! Her personal style and flair played a huge role in the overall development of this incredibly fun project. As did her impeccable ability to say YES to being bold and thinking outside the box. We suggested dimensional wall treatments, she said YES. Reclaimed and repurposed tree rings and faux fur ottomans, YES. She requested a unique sculpture, we presented a unique take with butterflies. She said YES, we said absolutely YES. 

While keeping the existing 1970’s wood ceiling panels and moss rock fireplace in the great room, we added elegance without restructuring every component. Instead we focused on making a statement with earthy decor, alternative wall art and refined rustic cocoa barstools. Then Wendy Yates took it a step farther by designing a “one of a kind” master headboard in collaboration with Westside Designworks of Colorado Springs.

Room by room we finalized the project and together said YES. It’s fresh, fun and funky.
