Industrial | Detail

When asked to update a long standing Italian eatery in Breckenridge with a more modern feel we knew exactly what to do. We started from the ground with hand painted concrete slip coefficient tile flooring and we worked our way to the top with customized atomic light fixtures that represent the “Anatomy of Food.” Mixing the existing traditional feel with a more industrial design was all in the details!.

The small restaurant decided to renovate and add on in 2015. At the time unisex bathrooms were just starting to make their way into the public scene and we made sure to add one. With a more contemporary stylized bar, old school red-white checkered tablecloths in the dining area, and chic black leather chairs in the front room we allowed each room to have its own sense of character while still tying them together with color..

As a focal piece we kept the bar open but made sure the materials used for the countertops, walls and coat hooks were warm and welcoming with texture. We used weight baring airplane parts in the bar to suspend the floating shelves from the ceiling (a new experience for us), custom designed the bar stools to compliment the procured fabrics in the banquets, and collaborated with a local craftsman to create the tables. The wall adjacent to the bar was lined with a black and white image of a chef cooking in the kitchen, which we intentionally choose to tie in the historical vibe.

As you walk through the space you’ll get the industrial feeling while also noticing the details from the bottom to the top.
